We had all been smitten by the incredible American roots music that had begun filtering into Britain in the ‘fifties. Travelling in America only reinforced that. Getting to actually meet The Staple Singers, Jessie Fuller, Bard Ray, Obray Ramsey, Jean Ritchie ….. was for me a dream come true. This album came after a lot of intensive touring. The material is either American influenced or authentic traditional songs Pentangleized.
